We are currently FULL for  Kindergarten and Early Elementary. You may still register for the Parent Only option.

Club 21’s program Stepping Up is uniquely designed for Parents of children with Down syndrome who are preparing for the major transitions between early intervention and preschool, preschool and Kindergarten, and Kindergarten through the early elementary years. We are offering a Parent Education and Child learning opportunity that has been specifically developed to support families of young ones with Down syndrome who are leaving behind their Early Intervention services as they cross the bridge to Pre-school thru early Elementary.

Each 75 minute session, over a period of ten months, will focus on a pre-determined topic, allow for discussion, and show you how that session ties into previously shared ideas.  Parent Sessions have been designed by a Club 21 parent who was also an incredible teacher and administrator in Public School Districts for many years, Kristin Enriquez.  Each child’s class will feature pull-outs  with a Speech Therapist and Occupational Therapist who will provide a mini assessment focusing on strategies and activities that will support your child’s current needs. Math, literacy, and social competency will be covered in each class throughout the year.

Beginning at 18 Months thru lower elementary,  join other families and learn how to become the most effective advocate, teacher and member of your child’s IEP team. The skills you learn in this program will highlight issues specific to your child’s age level but will carry you throughout your child’s education.
